NEW LA CARMINA AUTHOR AND FASHION DESIGN WEBSITE, PHOTOS, VIDEOS.

Daiso fake Victorian moustache mask, fop dandy British costume and transparent disguise.
Pardon me, pardon me, I dare say I'm lost, oh dear... and goodness, I seem to have misplaced my pocketwatch, and I'm late already, oh me oh my...

Besides the Home Depot, what's the greatest place on Earth for DIY inspiration? Daiso, the Japanese 100-yen ($1) discount megamart! In the past, I've loaded up my basket with ear-cleaning swabs for Basil, fake black roses, ghost salt & pepper shakers, kawaii erasers, and panda-shaped baking moulds. Last week, I swooped up this transparent Victorian gentleman's disguise. The mask comes in two parts: monocled eyebrows and twirly moustache. Can you imagine robbing the bank in one of these?

Now that I have your attention, I thought I’d take this post to introduce you to my re-vamped homepage. In the spirit of DIY, I did all of the web/graphic design myself. We'll start at the main URL, LaCarmina.com, which splits into three parts: designer, author, blogger.

On the Author site, you can read about my upcoming books, Cooking Cute and Tokyo Theme Restaurants, and my previous one, Cosmos in a Carrot. My Biography includes a list of my favorite films, food, art, fashion, etc. The Media page contains press mentions, photos, videos, and downloads (icons, banners, wallpapers). Finally, you can Contact me me via email/social networks and subscribe to my mailing list.

The Fashion site focuses on my clothing line. The About page consists of my brand concept (signature design, inspiration, mascots) and designer bio. Click Gallery to view my seasonless Marie Antoinette coat designs. The Downloads, Press, and Contact pages are mirrors of the sections on the Author site. Soon, the Retailer tab will take you to a list of stores where you can buy my coats.

Finally, the Blog link takes you to where you are now. What's ahead? Get ready for more videos and How-Tos, a regular feature on my kawaii artwork, and pro photos from upcoming trips to NYC, Tokyo, and Taipei. And check back Monday - I'll be announcing my first giveaway! All week long, you'll have a chance to win two fantastic prizes... dum dum dum...
