† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
It was maybe 2004 and I was at an anime convention; it was quite boring, but I saw her: a Gothic Lolita. She had an amazing white/black dress and high-heeled boots... I was impressed and I wanted to be Gothic Lolita.
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
It makes me feel wearing exactly how I want to look. Sometimes childlike, sometimes like a princess, or a Victorian lady. I can't imagine now how can I dress in something other than Lolita fashion, or neo-Victorian fashion. It is not something important; it is part of my life.
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
I made most of my things with my grandma, or I buy in F+F or Bodyline and I really don't care is that ita or not, because their clothes are pretty nice and cheap. I don't have any fav brand, because I like prints or models from every brand (of course not all), but I think the best is Victorian Maiden and BTSSB, but they're too expensive for me.
† Any other comments?
My dream is make skirt printed in Simo Hayha and snowflakes. I am really impressed by his person and all Finnish soldiers who were fighting in Winter War.

† Age: 28 (*^_^*)
† Location:I'm loath to choose just one (>_^) I'm currently in LA for grad-school. Originally from upstate NY, and prior to grad school, lived in Tokyo for four years, where I'm tentatively planning to return after finishing school.
† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
On the streets of Harajuku when I was living in Tokyo after college. I didn't really fall totally in love with it as something i might try though until I saw "Kamikaze Girls" and connected more with some of the personality behind it. More generally, I was first introduced to some of the breadth of Japanese fashion when working on a student film shoot in college directed by a Japanese friend of mine. And as for doing drag, I got my start at the tender age of 14 in a talent show. I've done it regularly since, including in at least one of my own short films, and in a few others. Sadly I have yet to try strutting the streets of Tokyo in full "new half" (drag/ transgendered) regalia. (ToT)
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
That cuteness as a way of life doesn't have to be shallow or self-indulgent; it's quite open and giving in a way! In the U.S. there tends to be, if subconsciously, the puritanical notion that high fashion = vanity. When I was living in Tokyo I quickly realized that being well dressed was simply a courtesy to the thousands of people that have to look at you every day. I also love that in Japanese fashion, while clothes are definitely an expression of your interests and who you are, there's much less social baggage and "meaning" behind what people wear. Outfits tend to be worn in the light hearted way a costume is, rather than the robes of some religion, and GL fashion is *the* prime example of this.
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Of course, I have to say Baby... but I'm so indecisive, I tend to find something to like in just about everything. And of course, there are no major brands that I can afford. (ToT) For drag I've gotten the occasional designer stuff gifted, but usually I mix and match - anything from cheap costume shops etc. to Victoria's Secret. The actual maid dress I wore to Rococo Rendezvous the other night I had a friend of mine pick up at a Don Quixote in Tokyo, and the rest (shoes, petticoat etc.) I got on line. I'm totally hooked on GL now though, and am eager to find more stuff!
† Any other comments?
Well, besides what I just mentioned, I guess for me the key has always been to feel attractive, feminine (and preferably hot (>_^) ) in whatever I wear. I always try to push the boundaries of my comfort zones, but when doing drag - and I think any time anyone puts on a dress - it's either pure elation or absolute terror. If I like it though, if I think it's hot/ cute, I know that it will translate to those around me - even if it's not what they were expecting. (>_^)

† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
When I was 13 I stumbled over the book "FRUiTS" and what I mostly loved were the girls in gothic lolita clothes. Since then, my dreams have been filled with lace, cupcakes, pearls and brightly shining stars. I was/am so obsessed I even went to Japan to go shopping when I was 14!
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
I love the fact that you dress up to please yourself and not anyone else. To not care about what people think or say, to not dress for men to think you are attractive, that is feminism to me. Haha, I could never imagine wearing a frilly dress could be called feminism!
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright and Angelic Pretty.
† Any other comments?
Do not be afraid of mixing Baby with vintage and Dior, live to please yourself and not anyone else. Besides, my blog is in English and full of inspiration!

† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
I've always been attracted to the lolitas, magical and beautiful princesses! What more can you be? It's been 6 months now since I've been able to be who I really am, a true princess...
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
It’s noble. We are who we want to be, and live by the rules we acknowledged. By being pure and respectful of who we are. We don’t need to show off our body to get the attention!
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Victorian Maiden.
† Any other comments?
Be who you want to be, open your hearts to the princess screaming for attention, you won’t regret it!

† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
Around October 2004, I was a big fan of Malice Mizer and I was checking out a lot of websites that had anything to do with them. I ended up on the Baby the Stars Shine Bright website and saw the most adorable pink sailor top! It just took off from there.
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
It's cute yet very elegant. Also, there's a multitude of styles within the Lolita fashion so it's always fun to mix and match and see what you created in the end. Plus, tea parties are the best.
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, Moi-meme-Moitie, Victorian Maiden.
† Any other comments?
Don't restrict yourself to rules made by others. Your fashion should reflect you. Have fun with it!
